Dr.B.Dora Arul Selvi,
The Principal of Mahendra Engineering College for Women, Thiruchengode is an experienced educator and academic leader with a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the field of engineering education.
Dr. Selvi’s educational journey began with her undergraduate studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli, where she graduated with a university rank. She then pursued her postgraduate degree in Power System Engineering at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, where she achieved a distinction. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, she obtained her Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, in 2010.
With a passion for research and mentorship, she is a recognized Research Supervisor at the Centre for Research, Anna University, Chennai, in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Under her guidance, six research scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D., while one scholar has submitted his thesis. As a member of the Board of Studies in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Anna University, Chennai, she contributed to the restructuring of the curriculum and the revision of syllabi under the 2017 regulation.
Her research work has been published in national and international journals and conferences. She has been honoured with the prestigious Pandit Madan Mohan Malavia award from IE(I) for her publication. She undertook a project sponsored by the Institution of Engineers, India. Her commitment to knowledge sharing is evident from her role as an organizer of various events, including a DRDO-sponsored one-day workshop on Embedded Systems and an international conference, as well as national-level symposia. She has also participated innumerous seminars, Faculty Development Programmes, and workshops. She holds memberships in professional organizations such as the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Institution of Engineers, India (IE[I]).Teaching is her favorite profession, as it brings her great joy and fulfillment.
