The Principal of Mahendra Engineering College for Women, Thiruchengode is an experienced educator and academic leader with a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the field of engineering education.

Dr. S.Nirmala’s educational journey began with her undergraduate studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Government College of Engineering, Salem. She then pursued her postgraduate degree in Applied Electronics at Government College of Engineering, Salem, where she achieved a distinction. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, she obtained her Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, in 2010.

With a passion for research and mentorship, she is a recognized Research Supervisor at the Centre for Research, Anna University, Chennai, in the Faculty of Information and Communication. Under her guidance, Eight research scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D., while four scholar’s pursuing Ph.D.

Her research work has been published in national and international journals and conferences. She undertook a project sponsored by DRDO with 1 Crore funding. Her commitment to knowledge sharing is evident from her role as an organizer of various events like international conference, national-level symposia and seminar and workshops. In her tenure as Principal, she has faced NAAC, NBA and Autonomous Committees successfully. She has participated in numerous seminars, Faculty Development Programmes, and workshops. She holds memberships in professional organizations such as the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers, India (IETE). Teaching is her favorite profession, as it brings her great joy and fulfillment.
